Reducing the Swelling & Bruising of Procedure With a Plant Derivative – Arnica

May 15th, 2009

Arnica Montana is a mountain plant (leopard’s bane) found in the United States and Central Europe. For generations, legend told of the relief this plant can provide for injuries. Now there’s proof. New research done at the Univ. of California, showed by the analysis of photographs, that the patients using Arnica before and after their facelift had a faster recovery with less bruising. The study showed 25% more bruising and a 50% longer recovery for those not using Arnica.

So, Dr. Szachowicz has all surgical patients use a course of homeopathic Arnica Montana starting before and then after all cosmetic surgery, and an Arnica gel is applied to any areas of visible bruising starting immediately after surgery.

We carefully watch the science of wound healing to insure the best outcomes for our patients.
